Every company that builds mission-critical software faces the same challenge: as systems grow more complex, it becomes increasingly difficult to understand what's actually happening inside them. Engineering teams instrument their code to collect data about every request, error, and system event - but existing tools make it nearly impossible to connect these low-level signals to meaningful business outcomes.
We think current observability tools are broken, and we're out to fix things:
You'll be at the forefront of innovation in this space, responsible for developing the core ingestion and query engines that power our platform. We've architected our system around object storage and open data formats, allowing customers to analyze their data using familiar tools while dramatically reducing costs compared to existing solutions.
We are a small team, so you will also be involved in shaping the company culture, and you’ll see the impact of your contributions first hand by working directly with customers as we iterate on product features.
As a Full Stack Engineer at Firetiger, you'll build tools that help infrastructure and B2B software companies make sense of their systems. You'll create interfaces that let engineers explore data at every level - from individual API calls to system-wide patterns - and connect technical metrics to business impact.
You'll work on a modern stack using React and TypeScript to create powerful ways to query and visualize system data. Our platform uses OpenTelemetry and Apache Iceberg, deployed inside customer cloud infrastructure, to make this data as accessible and analyzable as any other business data source.
Firetiger was founded by **Rustam** and Achille, ex-senior leaders at Cloudflare and Segment. Our product is rooted in operational observability techniques that we developed and applied at Cloudflare and Segment to run mission-critical infrastructure at hyperscale.
We are on a path to do to the Telemetry space what companies like Databricks have done to Business Intelligence. We think that over the next decade, telemetry will be used for a lot more than infrastructure operations, and joining telemetry with other business data will enable customers to extract orders of magnitude more value form it than they have access to today; and we will do this at a fraction of the cost of existing solutions, by leveraging a modern software architecture based on object storage, open data formats, and managed deployments in customers’ cloud infrastructure.
We are backed by Lauren Reeder and Alfred Lin from Sequoia Capital, Matthew Prince (Cloudflare), Calvin French-Owen (Segment), Jean-Denis Greze (Plaid), Jen Taylor (Plaid), and a group of the world’s best investors and operators.
